AP MPEG-2 is designed to measure and control parameters in accordance with ETSI TR 101 290 digital broadcast television systems (hereinafter referred to as DVT) DVB-T, DVB-C, DVB-S (DVB-S2), as well as distributed over IP networks containing transport streams (hereinafter TP) MPEG-2 using video codecs MPEG-2 (H.262), MPEG-4 (H.264 / AVC). MPEG-2 AP complies with GOST R 52722, GOST R 52592, GOST R 52593, GOST R 52210, PTE-2002.

The MPEG-2 AP provides reception of radio signals from DVT systems, their demodulation and subsequent processing, reception of MPEG-2 transport streams on the Ethernet interface and their subsequent processing in order to obtain information:
  • about the structure of TP;
  • on the measurement data of the bit rate of TP and its constituent parts, such as programs and elementary streams;
  • on the content of the PSI / SI tables;
  • on measuring indicators of three priorities in accordance with ETSI TR 101290;
  • about the video broadcasting format.
It is carried out in the form of a PC with one or several receivers of radio signals of the DVT systems.

The metric for assessing the operation of multimedia information transmission systems (IPTV and OTT) is QoS — Quality of Service. The metric of human perception is QoE, Quality of Experience. At the same time, there are cases when, with a high assessment of QoS, there is a low subjective assessment of QoE, which determines the interest in using the provided service. The laboratory is engaged in the implementation of both QoS and QoE methods approved in the recommendation of the International Telecommunication Union, and the development of an original QoE methodology, including:
  • analysis of network indicators;
  • evaluation of the parameters of the playback equipment;
  • analysis of the type of content and its characteristic features;
  • analysis of the types and extent of distortions and artifacts;
  • neural networks for analyzing indicators and constructing an assessment.
A customized QoE monitor does not require large computing power and can be used on portable devices.

In the course of the development of communication systems, a tool for analyzing a digital signal in real time is being created. External analyzers, on the one hand, do not allow visualization of all the necessary parameters, on the other hand, they work only with the recorded signal. This analyzer allows you to display information and visualize:
  • constellation type;
  • signal spectrum;
  • eye diagram;
  • phase rotation;
  • signal-code structure;
  • numerical parameters, etc.
